Why do people blog anyways?

I thought it might be interesting to join the world of blogging so this is my first foray. Why do people feel so inclined to share their innermost thoughts and feelings with complete strangers? I guess I really wanted to find out so here goes nothing ... stay tuned for more updates from the mind of one of the most random people I know - me.
